New Hair

In all the movies, after a break up, the heartbroken/bitter/angry/ gal (or guy) is seen doing something to make them feel and look better. Bridget Jones ditched the ciggys, Brook in the Break Up got a wax and paraded around naked in her apartment and Carrie went from blonde to brunette. Whilst it’s tempting to get that wax, I thought I would stick to one of the most obvious changes for now. I was only growing my hair for my wedding anyway…

CoCo Chanel said “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life”. Boy, was she right. We have all been there – going through a physical change to help us with what’s going on inside. The stuff that pushed you to that point of no going back. It won’t be an overnight fix. You’ll need to have patience and know it’s OK that you’re under construction now and trust that an ending is followed by a beginning.

Fill your life with laughing so hard you almost pee, 3am trips to McDonald’s after drinking all the gin, spending time with the most incredible and supportive friends ever and remember that in other’s hesitation, you can find your answer.

Here’s to new beginnings, a new mindset, a new focus, a new start, new intentions and most importantly, new hair!

PS-thank you to my lovely hairdresser who has made me feel like a brand new woman.
