My mother always told me ‘Use soap and water, remember to moisturise and drink lots of water’. She was right – as mum’s always are.
Over the past year or so I have paid more attention to my skin – what I put on it and also drinking so much water I constantly need to go to the toilet at work. (Not ideal when you work with kids). Perhaps being a couple of years away from thirty prompted me to think about my skin more.
Top 5 skin care products I am loving right now:
- The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser
- The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Sleeping Mask
- Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Day Cream SPF 15
- Bionura Retinol 2.5% Vitamin C 20% & Hyaluronic Acid Firming Serum
- Natural Spa Factory Rose Hip Oil
Body Shop’s Vitamin C Moisturiser says it’s for dull, tired and grumpy skin. Sold! (Can definitely relate to that in a morning). I have been using this product for about a month now and can tell the difference in my skin before and after. It feels hydrated and looks brighter. Everyone should have a pot of this – highly recommended.
Again, sticking with The Body Shop, their overnight Vitamin E cream is amazing. It acts like a face mask that can be kept on whilst sleeping. Such a great one for the winter months when your skin feels super dry and dull. When using, apply a generous amount for best results.
This next one is a firm favourite that I have been using for a year or two now. I love the fact that the Olay moisturiser also has an SPF. I regularly mix it with my foundation for that hydration and protection. I get through these pots far too quickly!
Retinol is a form of Vitamin A which helps your skin to renew and enhances collagen production (something that starts to decline when you get to your thirties). It helps with the appearance of wrinkles and lines and can actually also reverse some effects of any sun damage you may have had. Sometime, Retinol products can be quite harsh on the skin and I can only use this once or twice a week at night before bed. It kind of makes your face look like it is falling off and shredding but it is so good. I have 100% seen the benefits though and have used this for over four months now. It isn’t too pricey either!
Finally, one of my faves! The Natural Spa Factory are based in Bath and work with botanically sourced ingredients and their products have no Parabens or nasty chemicals in them. This Rosehip Oil is sublime. It feels amazing on your skin and has a huge list of benefits. With a great price tag too it is definitely one to give a go.
Skin care was something I somewhat neglected. Now I love trying new products and seeing what works for me. Guys, the glow is real!
*I am recommending these products because I want to. I have not been asked to by brands*
