Planning and Plot Twists

Planning. We all do it – day by day, week by week, month by month. It’s our default setting to have plans. We need to plan to be able to achieve goals and dreams. You might have a three year, five year or ten year plan. But do we ever stop to think about whether our planning is hindering our happiness?

Until recently, I had a plan. It looked great on paper and it was something I thought I had wanted for such a long time. Turns out, since the plan has changed so have I. Now for the first time in my life, I don’t have a ‘Life Plan’. And that’s OK. It’s all about how you handle the plot twists.

So here comes Plan B. Plan B is living in the moment, being carefree, enjoying the now and taking every day as it comes. Looking back, it’s something I certainly needed to be doing more of and will certainly continue to do from now on. I’m going to be doing myself, for myself, by myself and I know I will be thankful for that later.

I am so excited to start new adventures of my own, find out what makes me happy and do things because I want to do them. If you don’t do these things for yourself, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan.

You can plan your life on paper but you can only live your life by your heart.
