Self Care

Good evening everyone. What a wet and miserable day in the UK it is! I hope everyone is well and has a lovely snuggly Monday evening regardless.

Let’s talk self care. I thought I would share with you some little things I make time for in a week. What are your go-to self care musts?

1. Getting cosy

Who doesn’t like snuggling up in front of the tele with a warm blanket? Getting under a blanket and reading a good book or watching an episode of your favourite TV programme is an absolute must for me. Just taking the time to stop and unwind. This is something I do every day and when I haven’t found the time for whatever reason, I can really tell the difference.

2. Candles

I think I have talked about this before on my blog but I do have a thing for candles.🕯When we think self care we instantly think about popping a face mask on or having a nice bubble bath (YES to both) but for me candles have a similar affect. Getting out the Christmas smelling candles makes me so happy! Anyone else?

3. Pampering

Skincare. Nails. Hair masks. Exfoliating scrubs. Finding time to do all of these things in a week can be a bit tricky but I try and do my best. Look after yourself on the outside as well as on the inside. 🧖‍♀️

4. Detox

Detoxing from social media and taking time out is something I find a lot easier to do now than I did a few months ago. Not thinking about when to post next, what content I need to shoot and updating my Instagram feed is sooooo nice. Ugh! It’s exhausting. Sometimes I think this topic is one creators need to be a bit more honest about. If you need a break, just take it.

Whatever it is that you choose to do to look after yourself, make sure you do it! Life can get in the way and sometimes we can neglect ourselves. Happiness is the key to everything. X
