*since writing this blog post about a week ago, I caved and bought an artificial tree 🤦🏽♀️
Good evening everyone and happy weekend! I hope that you have all had a good Saturday. We are hunkering down with some blankets and hot chocolate before dinner, all the candles are lit and a festive playlist is on.
I asked over on my Instagram what you wanted to see next on the blog and you were all keen on a Christmas decorations post. This will be a long one so without further ado, here it is…🎄 *some items have been gifted
The Tree
This year we have decided to buy a real tree. This will be my first real tree as an adult and I am really looking forward to it. I know real trees aren’t for everybody – I know some of you like to put up your trees in November – but for us, I think it might become a new tradition. Last year we had a slim line artificial tree and I decorated it in a very ‘Instagram’ way really. That will not be the case this year. I have been fortunate enough to work with a number of brands on Christmas tree decorations this year but we have also enjoyed picking baubles and ornaments together which has been really lovely.
Biggie Best at Christmas
I am working with a company quite local to me in Cirencester called Biggie Best. Their Christmas shop is beautiful and I thought I would share with you the pieces I have in my home this season. This artificial tree is currently sitting on a side table in our kitchen and I have wrapped this tin star garland around it. The heart garland is being used as a Christmas card hanger over our sink in the kitchen which I attached with some little hooks and some twine.

These tree decorations are so beautiful and perfect for our home. Whilst I am going for that more traditional tree this year, I have been hugely inspired by Scandinavian and Nordic design when picking pieces for this season. I just love this ornament with the bell on! You can shop Christmas bits here at Biggie Best https://www.biggiebest.co.uk/christmas A huge thank you to Biggie Best for working with me ❤
Decorating Our Home
Last year, Christmas was in my first home which I was going through the process of buying with Mr RV and even though we couldn’t see family and it wasn’t what we were both used to, it was still lovely to have our first Christmas together. I was new to the Instagram thing with regards to interiors and I just wanted my tree to be ‘Instagrammable’. Like I said above, that will not be happening this year. I want my home to be exactly how I want it to be at this time of year instead of what the internet expects it to be. So yes, I have some whacky decorations and no it won’t all match and look perfect.
Festive foliage is something I adore in a home at Christmas. I prefer real flowers as I am fussy with faux. I have been after some faux berry sprays for a while and I eventually found some gorgeous ones on Country Interiors which I can’t wait to get my hands on. I have also found some great festive candles in Waitrose, HomeSense and over at Iggybox Candles *brand ambassador
Gisela Graham was kind enough to gift me some items this year too and I shared them over on my Instagram stories. I also have a discount code so on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/rebeccaavalentina/
It might also be worth mentioning that I did a campaign for Marks and Spencer too over on Instagram. I’ll pop the image here in case you see anything you fancy…

Christmas Inspiration
I have clocked up some hours in Pinterest over the past few weeks let me tell you. Here are some of my favourite pins I have saved as inspiration for our home this Christmas 🎅

And that’s a wrap on this blog post. You’ll have to wait a few more weeks until Christmas content appears over on my Instagram I’m afraid. I’ve already seen so many trees up! Have a lovely evening 🎁
