The sun is still out and we have spent the weekend in the garden getting it ready for the summer. Our beds are planted up, the cushion covers have had a wash, the patio has been cleaned and I’m now on the hunt for outdoor decor to add that exra zhuzh.

This garden has taken about two years to get right. I dug out both of our beds last year but I planted a lot of cottage garden flowers then which just didn’t work for me. In the winter, the beds were very bare and I wanted to change that. My mum’s garden is a stunning and she gave me so much advice and a couple of the plants you can see here. I planted up some hydrangeas last year which I kept in my beds this year and I have added some hebes, a gorgeous rose my friend sent to us for an engagement present, weigelas, a buddleia & a couple of geraniums. We also have a clematis at the far end of the bed and a climbing rose which are both doing very well.
In my pots I have a marguerite daisy, an Anouk lavender and some erigeron. Also, I couldn’t not include this little snap of Atty – he absolutely loves this spot on our storage box. Such a cutie 🐱

Our herb garden has had a refresh for this year and we tried to plant as many herbs that flowers as possible for the bees. This wooden three-tiered planter we picked up online and it is just perfect for a small garden. In the other bed I planted up more of the same; hebes, hydrangeas, a weigela and a ceanothus. In the pot we have a wild honeysuckle which we took from Mr RV’s mum’s garden and we have planted it in memory of her 💖

Et voila! We can’t wait to spend more time out here with friends and family. All of the items have been tagged over on my Instagram so head there for more details.
Have a lovely sunny evening ☀️
